Penguins on a plane!!

OMG, y'all. Can you imagine if you were on a plane and THIS happened?!



I often fear death when on planes, but never once has that fear been of death by cuteness. Wow. That is some next level shit, penguins! Well done!

Happy corgis!

My week was made recently when Leah sent me one of the most heartwarming internet photo roundups I've ever seen: Buzzfeed's '40 Things That Make Corgis Happy.' Just look at these sweet, smiling pups having a great time and try not to feel uplifted! Here are but a few highlights:

Corgis love mail! I can really relate to this one - in this day and age, getting real mail is a delight.


Corgis love riding in cars with pals! This one was Syd's fave.


Corgis love eating peanut butter! I, too, love peanut butter, particularly right out of the jar.


And finally, corgis love tractors! I'm from the country so obviously I love tractors too.


In conclusion, corgis continue to be the absolute best.

Sam and I only have a shower in our little apartment, and boy do I miss having a bathtub. It's so relaxing to treat yourself to a hot bath after a long day's work. This baby gorilla, Joe, agrees with me:

Pro-tip: Go for a slide

Look at this little fox who has created himself a slide on a conveyor belt!


He looks so happy, and like he is having the best time! I'm on staycation starting tomorrow, and one of my goals will be to find a slide and do some quality sliding. You should go for a slide too!

From the front lines of interspecies friendships

Here is a chimp named DoDo who has made friends with a tiger cub named Aorn. DoDo is such an amazing friend that he bottle feeds his little buddy!



If there's anything that will make Monday less heinous, it's a monkey in jorts giving a bottle to a baby tiger.

We should all take a lesson from Turbo

One of the reasons Mondays are awful is because you've just had two days when you can sleep as much as you like, and now you can't sleep whenever you want... OR CAN YOU? Sydney sent me this great video on Friday. Turbo the corgi puppy is setting a great example here - don't let the lack of a bed stop you from getting your snooze on! Just go the hell to sleep in your desk chair, your car, an empty box... wherever you want!



Just commit to it, and have sweet dreams.

Mondays suck, y'all! Let's make this one suck less by just looking at corgis being adorable all day long. Buzzfeed had a fun post last week about corgi hybrids, which, as you can imagine, are just completely stupid cute. My two faves were:

Baks is a boxer who was left blind after an accident. Buttons is the pet goose who helped nurse him back to health and become comfortable going out and about. He's a guide goose!

It's Monday. WOOF! It's Monday and it's the holiday season. Now in addition to the normal Monday blues, we have to worry about gifts and cards and how many inches all the festive food you can't stop yourself from eating will add to your already bulging midsection. We need to stop and smell the ADORABILITY, am I right?

The thing to do - stay inside and be snuggly

Y'all, it is REALLY cold in DC. I have about a half hour walk to work, and the past few mornings it has just been miserable - so much so that I've even considered taking the Metro instead (the Metro during rush hour is basically a nightmare on wheels, if you've never experienced it). My damn toes is FROZE! On days such as this, the only thing to do is stay under the covers and cuddle up with the one you love.



Sadly, that is not an option because we are all adults and we have to go to stupid work because we have to have money for rent and bills and the seemingly insurmountable, soul crushing pile of debt that never ever seems to get any smaller, no matter how much of your paycheck you keep throwing at it.

Rainy Tuesday

It's very grim out there today in the District, so I am of course wearing my trusty rain boots. It's important to be sure to wear your boots if weather conditions are going to be poor, because wet feet are just a one way ticket on the train to Fussytown. This piglet has the right idea:
